Welcome to Picture Box Blue
Picture Box Blue all started because I have a thing about old maps. I just can’t get enough of them.
My love of maps probably comes from having travelled extensively and lived in different countries. Home at the moment is in Bedford England. My life started off in Hong Kong where I had a fabulous upbringing. Holidays were spent traveling around Asia. Then when the Colony was handed back to China my parents moved on to Portugal. I came to England and married a Norwegian Geordie and developed a taste for visiting European Cities.
I craft and upcycle for a living now and one of my favourite ways to transform something and give it meaning is to add a map or a lovely vintage image. Much of my creative work can be seen on my other website Pillarboxblue.com Over the years I have acquired a lovely collection of vintage maps and images. The idea is to share on Picture Box Blue the maps and images I have sourced that are over a hundred years old and are copyright-free.
I’m really excited too, as Picture Box Blue gives me the excuse to go hunting around flea markets and antique shops for gorgeous copyright free vintage maps and images to share with you.
Each map/image can be downloaded from the site as a PDF. You are free to use it for your own personal use.
